Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) showcased the valuable partnership they have with West Coast Arborists (WCA) and how together they are leading the way for Corpsmembers to access entry-level jobs with WCA and similar companies. Corpsmembers are learning how to safely use equipment, learning about the full life-cycle of trees, while at the same time learning about climate resiliency and environmental sustainability. Through its Urban Lumber Yard & Mill, CCLB has processed thousands of dead, dying, and diseased trees for reuse and planted thousands more to ensure that they are creating spaces where Corpsmembers can learn about greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration.
